Mt Pinos / Sawmill Mtn Day Hike

Join us on a hike lead by Caltech Y Outdoors leaders to the peaks of Mt. Pinos and Sawmill mountain! This is a difficult 7 mile hike at over 8000 ft elevation, but it offers stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, farmlands to the east, and the tall pines of the Los Padres national forest. We will depart from Caltech at 8am and return around 5pm. Departing early, plus the elevation and partial tree cover, will help us the beat the summer heat!  Be prepared to bring your own snacks and a light lunch, sturdy footwear, at least 3L of water, sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat. 

You must have your own transportation to, and from, the trailhead or carpool with others.  We will send out group contacts to help participants self-organize carpools.  The trip is free of charge but please be prepared to chip in $20 for gas and vehicle wear and tear.
