ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Jamie Bock (Marvin L. Goldberger Professor of Physics at Caltech and Senior Research Scientist at JPL) is an experimental cosmologist who studies the early universe. He is the Principal Investigator of the SPHEREx satellite project and a Co-PI of the BICEP Array program. Prof. Bock has developed novel detector technologies, instruments, and measurement techniques for observations from remote ground-based sites, balloons, sounding rockets, and satellites. He received the 2018 Gruber Cosmology Prize as a member of the Planck team, the 2016 AAS Joseph Weber and the 2014 SPIE George W. Goddard awards for astronomical instrumentation.
