The Y-Tutor Program is currently enrolling students for 2020-2021 academic year.
All tutoring provided is online only.

About the Program:
Y-Tutor is a math and science-focused online tutoring program for public school students in grades 6 through 12. The tutoring is provided by Caltech undergraduate and graduate students and the program is designed to help students gain greater competency in math foundations, improve skills in math and science and prepare students for college-level math and science. The program has a one-to-one tutor to student ratio. Students are not assigned a regular tutor and can schedule online tutoring sessions as needed.
New Students:
Priority will be given Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) students.
Tutoring Schedule:
Flexible. Students can schedule sessions with any available tutor.
Participation Fees:
Purchase session packages or pay a flat rate.
Flat rate = $150/year. This one-time fee covers up to 2 tutoring sessions per week from October to May.
Or purchase session packages:
10 sessions = $70
20 sessions = $120
30 sessions = $150
We accept cash, credit cards or check (payable to the Caltech Y)
Scholarships
Scholarships are available to students receiving free or reduced lunch. To apply for a scholarship please
submit a Copy of Meal Eligibility Letter to rise@caltech.edu
The student participation fees are for administrative costs (program staff and online platform fees) and are not reflective of the tutoring service. The tutoring service is free of charge and will continue to be provided by Caltech students.

1. Complete the online application.
2. Complete the electronic waiver. After submitting an application an electronic waiver will be sent to the parent/guardian email to be completed.
3. Set up an account on our online tutoring platform. Instructions will be emailed after receiving a completed waiver and purchase of tutoring sessions.
4. Start scheduling sessions with available tutors.
