Caltech Y Staff

The Caltech Y staff exists to support the vision and efforts of the Board Of Directors and the ExComm.

The Caltech Y Staff includes:

Athena Castro, Executive Director
In 1994, Athena began working at Caltech, where she has filled a number of roles including her current position as Executive Director of the Y which she began in 2000. She earned a BA in English Literature at Scripps College and a Masters in Education with an emphasis in College Student Affairs at Azusa Pacific University.

Greg Fletcher, Student Activities & Community Service Director
Prior to coming to the Caltech Y in 2001, Greg previously worked in Residence Life at UCLA and Cal Poly Pomona, and in Student Life on board the SS Universe Explorer for Semester At Sea. Greg is a native of Niagara Falls, Canada, and holds a Master of Education with an emphasis in Student Affairs from Azusa Pacific University.

Agnes Tong, Director of Marketing & Development
Agnes joined Caltech in 2006 and worked closely with graduate students as the Chemistry Graduate Program Administrator for 8 years prior to joining the Caltech Y in 2016.  She holds a Bachelors degree in Biology from Binghamton University and an MBA from University of Redlands.  She is a passionate advocate for our students and student programs.

Liz Jackman, Assistant Director of Student Programs
Liz joined the Caltech Y in 2010 while obtaining her Master's degree in College Counseling and Student Development from Azusa Pacific University. She worked as a teacher for four years in Japan prior to joining the Y. She is very committed to finding ways to partner with and better serve the community of Pasadena.

Camila Fernandez, Special Project Coordinator/Office Manager
Camila joined the Caltech Y, first as a volunteer in 2014, to later becoming part of its staff in 2015. She grew up and was educated in Chile, and moved to the US in 2011. Camila holds a BS in Nutrition and Dietetics from University of Valparaiso, Chile. She enjoys the outdoors, and is certified in Wilderness First Aid through NOLS.

Anne Radimin, Development Coordinator
Anne is orginally from Australia and moved to the United States in April 2016, joining the Caltech Y shortly after. Anne holds a Bachelor of Architecure from the University of Canberra and Master of Museum Studies from the Australian National University. Prior to joining the Y, she worked as a curator for a not-for-profit arts organization.

Andrea Zurcher, Program Coordinator
Andrea originally comes from Zurich, Switzerland and moved to the United States in January 2016. Andrea holds a master’s degree in Social, Organizational and Business Psychology from the University of Zurich and worked in consumer behavior research at ETH (Federal Institute of Technology) before moving to the US. She enjoys hiking, skiing, visiting the American National Parks, and enjoying the many cultural events that take place throughout the Los Angeles area.
