Equipment Rentals

The Caltech Y offers a wide range of rental equipment at little to no cost for Caltech community members. From concerts to movies to talks, many groups make use of AV Equipment and Event Equipment from the Y. Outdoor gear is also available. Whether you are planning a day trip or a major expedition we may have what you need. See below for a complete list of equipment and charges.

The best way to assure that the equipment you want is available when you need it is to reserve it ahead of time. Simply stop by the Y and make a reservation. Payment are made upon return. Equipment should be returned in the same condition as when checked out, and added fees may be applied for late returns, or for equipment requiring organization, cleaning, or repair. If you are coordinating a House event or class trip you may be eligible for a discount in certain cases. Contact the Y well in advance of your program to see if this may be an option for you.

In addition to the Caltech Y, equipment has been provided through the generous support of The Moore Hufstedler Fund, The Student Investment Fund, The Caltech Alpine Club, The DaVinci Club, The Graduate Student Council, and many personal contributions.

Audio-Visual, Event, and Outdoor equipment are available for a small charge to Caltech students, staff or faculty for departmental or personal use.
