For those with a specific area of interest, some of the Y committees or coordinator positions may offer the perfect leadership experience. Requiring less involvement than that of the ExComm, the committees and coordinator positions offer a wonderful opportunity to play a significant leadership role tailored to your level of commitment and interest. The committees and coordinators work with and under the general direction of the Y ExComm.

The Community Service Committee consists primarily of the Coordinators of our on-going community service projects, along with a few individuals interested in helping out occassionally. The committee meets once a month and is open to anyone interested in promoting and planning volunteer opportunities for Caltech students. Y-Outdoors consists of enthusiasts interested in planning outdoor adventures for students at Caltech. The committee meets once a month to organize and plan trips. The Caltech Y Social Activism Speaker Series (SASS) Committee consists of graduate and undergraduate students who are interested in bringing distinguished speakers to campus in order to challenge the community through the exchange of thought provoking ideas.
