Selection Criteria
Applications will be evaluated to the extent to which the applicant posses the vision and drive to create and sustain a project which will fulfill the criteria of the ACT Fellowship. A review committee consisting of graduate and undergraduate students and Caltech Y staff will review proposals and nominate finalists. The selected finalists will be interviewed by the review committee.
Project/ Issue
Is the project relevant to the ACT Fellowship mission?
Are the project goals and timeline realistic and manageable?
Does the project build on the organization’s efforts or individuals working on the issue?
Applicant
Does the applicant clearly demonstrate a personal commitment and interest to the issue?
Does the applicant demonstrate the vision, skills and discipline necessary to accomplish a project of this nature?
Do the applicant’s recommendations and proposal answers distinguish him or her as someone who will learn a new or important voice to the issue addressed through their project?
Does the applicant possess the leadership and analytical skills needed to raise the level of campus understanding and involvement on the issues addressed by their project?
Mentor Organization
Does the organization seem sincere in its desire to work with the student on this project?
Will the mentor organization provide the resources, both through equipment and staffing, to ensure the success of this student and their project? |
