Caltech Y Staff

The Caltech Y staff exists to support the vision and efforts of the Board Of Directors and the ExComm.

The Caltech Y Staff includes:

Athena Castro, Executive Director
In 1994, Athena began working at Caltech, where she has filled a number of roles including her current position as Executive Director of the Y which she began in 2000. She earned a BA in English Literature at Scripps College and a Masters in Education with an emphasis in College Student Affairs at Azusa Pacific University.

Greg Fletcher, Student Activities & Community Service Director
Prior to coming to the Caltech Y in 2001, Greg previously worked in Residence Life at UCLA and Cal Poly Pomona, and in Student Life on board the SS Universe Explorer for Semester At Sea. Greg is a native of Niagara Falls, Canada, and holds a Master of Education with an emphasis in Student Affairs from Azusa Pacific University.

Christopher Kealey, Marketing & Development Director
Christopher joined the Caltech Y in 2004 after 10 years of international community service work, development and non-profit management. He is the Founding Director of Peace Works International, a Pasadena non-profit dedicated to community service and cultural awareness. He served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Costa Rica. Christopher holds an M.B.A. from Claremont Graduate University.

Liz Jackman, Student Programs Coordinator
Liz joined the Caltech Y in 2010 while obtaining her Master's degree in College Counseling and Student Development from Azusa Pacific University. She worked as a teacher for four years in Japan prior to joining the Y. She is very committed to finding ways to partner with and better serve the community of Pasadena.

Heather Bixby, Office Manager
Heather is the newest Y staff member. She has 2 years of Residence Life experience from Pitzer College in Claremont and a Master's in Education with an emphasis in College Student Affairs from Azusa Pacific University. Heather is very passionate about working with students and has a love of travelling. She just returned from an extended trip in India.
