Caltech Y Staff
The Caltech Y staff exists to
support the vision and efforts of the Board Of Directors and the ExComm.
The Y staff includes:
In 1994, Athena began working at Caltech, where she has filled a number
of roles including her current position as Executive Director of the
Y which she began in 2000. She earned a BA in English Literature at Scripps
College and a Masters in Education with an emphasis in College Student
Affairs at Azusa Pacific University. (seated second to left in photo)
Prior to coming to the Caltech Y in 2001, Greg previously worked in Residence
Life at UCLA and Cal Poly Pomona, and in Student Life on board the SS
Universe Explorer for Semester At Sea. Greg is a native of Niagara Falls,
Canada, and holds a Master of Education with an emphasis in Student Affairs
from Azusa Pacific University. (standing left in photo)
Christopher joined the Caltech Y in 2004 after 10 years of international community service work, development and non-profit management. He is the Founding Director of Peace Works International, a Pasadena non-profit dedicated to community service and cultural awareness. He served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Costa Rica. Christopher holds an M.B.A. from Claremont Graduate University.(seated right in photo)
Carmelita brings many years of experience to the Caltech Y. She is a familiar face on campus having worked several years in various academic divisions and campus departments. Carmelita enjoys art, music, and dancing. (standing right in photo)
Heather is an intern from Azusa Pacific University (APU) pursuing a Masters of Education in College Student Affairs.
Alycen Chan is the RISE Program's first official Coordinator. She has a background in education with 7 years of teaching experience, including 3 years as a Founding Teacher of KIPP Los Angeles Charter Middle School. Alycen is very passionate about working to improve opportunities for students in schools and areas that lack educational resources. She is very excited to be a part of the Caltech Y staff and hopes to help the Y make a positive contribution to the Pasadena Community. (seated third to left in photo)
