The Caltech Y Student Executive Committee (ExComm) is comprised of the student members of the Caltech Y Board of Directors. In addition to their roles as board members, the ExComm oversees all Y programming. Meet the ExComm Board:
Ilya Shadrin, President, is a senior majoring
in Biology and a member of Ruddock House from Torrance, CA. He joined
the ExComm board because he thoroughly enjoys how the Y revolves around
students.
Praddep Bugga, Undergraduate Vice President,
is a senior majoring in Chemistry and a member of Fleming House. Apart
from the Y, he also enjoys playing on the Men's Soccer Team and being a
part of the Chemistry Club.
Boyuan Sun, Graduate Vice President, is a
graduate student studying the field of Electrical Engineering from
Beijing, China. She joined Caltech Y earlier this year to build on the
leadership programs and assist in the planning and implementation of Y
activities.
Sunny Chun, Secretary, is a junior
majoring in Chemistry and a member of Blacker House from New York, New
York. She has been involved with the Caltech Y since orientation week
for incoming students when some enthusiastic Excomm members took a group
of people to work at the Boys and Girls Club of Pasadena.
Jonathan Tsai, Treasurer/Historian, is a
junior double majoring in Biology and Political Science and a member of
Fleming House from San Jose, California. He enjoys working on the
ExComm board because he has the opportunity to put his passion for
community service and social activism into action.
Peter Liu, is a senior majoring in Biology
and a member of Lloyd House from Red Bank, NJ. He has been involved
with the Caltech Y for three years. He decided to join the ExComm board
because it is a place where people enjoy serving together.
Abdul Ahad Tariq, is a senior double
majoring in Physics and Chemistry and a member of Blacker House from
Mansehra, Pakistan. He has been active in community service including
coordinating an Alternative Spring Break trip to Biloxi, Mississippi as
a hurricane relief effort.
June Wicks, is a graduate student studying
the field of Geochemistry from Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She is active
in community service including participating in the Summer Service Trip
to Costa Rica in 2005, and serving as the coordinator for the 2005
Make-A-Difference Day.
Shankar Kalyanaraman, is a graduate student
studying Computer Science from Bangalore, India. He has been working
for the Y for three years, planning and implementing a number of
international programs and outdoor adventures.
Susan Shen, is a senior double majoring in
Biology and English and a member of Avery House from Ames, Iowa. She
decided to join the ExComm board because she wanted to be a part of the
energetic group of students who organize fantastic activities of all
types for the Caltech community.
Rory Perkins, is a graduate student studying
the field of Physics from Gloucester, MA. He is also an active member
of SASS, Toastmasters, and the Outdoor Adventures Committee. His
favorite memory of the Y is the hiking trips, particularly the Zion.
Robin Abraham, is a senior majoring in
Applied and Computational Mathematics and a member of Fleming House from
Kuwait/Kerala, India. He decided to join the ExComm board because he
believes the Y is one of the few organizations on campus that are
actively involved in mobilizing students for the betterment of the
community at Caltech and in the surrounding areas.
Leon Xueliang Liu, is a junior majoring in
Applied Physics and a member of Avery House from Cerritos, California.
He enjoys working at the Y because it offers him the ability to
implement new ideas, participate in great events, make new friends,
develop valuable social and leadership skills, and strengthen friendship
and bonds with other members.
Leslie Tong, is a junior majoring in Biology
and a member of Lloyd House from Ventura, California. Her
favorite memory of the Y was being apart of the Heal-the Bay group
during Make-a-Difference Day.
DJ Seo, is a sophomore majoring in
Electrical Engineering and a member of Fleming House from Davis, CA. He
thoroughly enjoys working with every member of the ExComm team, and
appreciates their inherent desire and commitment to make changes.
Christina Weng, is a sophomore majoring in
Biology and a member of Lloyd House from Charlotte, North Carolina. She
has been involved in Caltech Y activities for about a year, and decided
to join the ExComm board because she felt she was ready to assume a more
proactive role.
Dongkook Lim, is a sophomore and a member of
Avery House from Manhattan, Kansas. He became an active member of the
ExComm because he strongly desires to give Caltech students the
opportunity to participate in nonacademic, out-of-school activities.
